Lecithin is a mixture of fat-like compounds found in both animals and plants. Due to its polar-apolar structure, it plays a structural and functional role in the cell wall. It also contains various phospholipids, i.e. phosphate-containing organic compounds, including phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylinositol.
The two main components of lecithin are choline and inositol, and they appear separately in the composition of many dietary supplements. The human body is capable of synthesizing these active ingredients, and their intake can be ensured mainly through a balanced and varied diet. Its vegetable sources include oils from cottonseed, corn, sunflower seeds, rapeseed and soybeans, and in terms of animal sources, egg yolk contains a significant amount of lecithin. Our product contains lecithin from soybean oil.
