Home Made Healthy Protein Bars

Here is a recipe that allows for you to make your own custom style quest protein bars.

I have made a variety with great success and they taste great,  some are even better than the ones big manufacturers make.

To make a base bar you only require 2 basic ingredients:

1. 35g of Vitafiber (IMO Syrup) which binds the next ingredient together.

2. 25g of your protein powder of choice.  I have used Tiramisu Whey Protein Complex and Chocolate Protein Micellar.  (All of these have turned out great.)

The top two ingredients will provide you with the base bar, you can then add cacao nibs, coconut pieces, brazil nuts, cashews or almonds, or even pieces of freeze dried fruit (note fresh fruit will not keep for very long so always opt for freeze dried.)

To make these bars all you have to do is weight out the syrup in a glass heat resistant bowl and place over boiling water until the vitafiber starts to bubble then all you have to do it mix in the protein powder and optional additions and transfer into a non stick silicone baking tray and mould into square bars.

You could heat in the microwave for 30-45 seconds to speed up the process,  but i would rather not nuke my food and destroy the nutritional value.
