Modifying your routine for the end of Covid
Though we may have wished that lockdown had been over and done in a matter of months, sadly this was not the case. I’m sure that many of you, like me, had begun to accept the lockdown lifestyle as the new normal, with routines in place and consistency day to day. But hopefully it seems that we have reached the end, and adjustments to our routines will need to be made. Humans tend to be creatures of habit, comforted by familiarity and unsettled by change, so the end of Covid restrictions may be quite daunting for some.
Supplements to help increase endurance
For those of you who practise endurance sports, you know how much of an impact proper fuelling and preparation can have on your performance. We all know the dreadful feeling of hitting ‘the wall’ during a long run, or burning our legs out halfway through a long cycle, so how do we combat this?
Outdoor exercise for spring
As Covid restrictions begin to lift, we can start to plan with optimism for the warmer weather! I’m sure that many of you, like me, have grown tired of the at-home workouts and the cold winter running. How can we take our workouts outside into the warm weather this spring?
Cardio before or after weights?
Doing your cardio before or after weights has been a topic of discussion in the fitness industry for a long time. As with many topics, the answer you receive is going to depend on who you ask.

It's clear to see that fats are essential in our diet and can come in various forms, from different food groups. But does fat make you fat? Well, it all comes down to energy balance.
What training split should I follow?
There must be hundreds of different workouts online all claiming to get you the biggest and strongest you have ever been, in the shortest amount of time. I feel sorry for anyone looking to get into training and typing into google ‘best workout program’, only to be bombarded with workout after workout all claiming to be the ultimate plan.
Martial Arts training you can do at home
For all of us Martial Artists, this Covid period has been a real detriment to our training. Being unable to see our training partners, or come into close contact with anyone has really prevented us from training martial arts effectively. While we may not be able to train in the ideal way, there are still ways that we can improve our skills from the comfort of our own homes with minimal or no equipment.
The benefits of training for your mental health
With the modern global struggles of metabolic syndrome and obesity, lifestyle changes are a very cost-efficient way to improve our health, both physically and mentally. Modifications to our everyday lives, and including exercise into our daily routines, can greatly benefit the state of our mental health.
New Year’s resolutions in the time of Covid
As we make our way into 2021, there’s a noticeable fog of uncertainty and apathy in the air. Usually at the turn of each New Year, we are brimming with hope and optimism for the future, but sadly this does not seem to be holding true this year. Most of us enjoy setting New Year’s resolutions to guide our efforts and provide us with something to look forward to. So what can we do this year to rally our motivation and ensure that we’re achieving our goals?
Can you out supplement a bad diet?
If you are like most people, then you probably buy bits and bobs from the fruit and veg isle for the week and get a semi decent amount into your diet, but you also buy a vitamin tablet as well, just in case. The rest of your diet is mainly made up of healthy carbohydrates, some meats, and the odd treat. That is fine, there is no problem with that. The problem arises when you start filling your shopping cart with a lot more processed foods, ignoring the fruit and veg and topping up on the vitamin and mineral pills.
